Thanks to the kind generosity of Maestro Mariano Deidda, we are making available to our readers several of Pavese’s texts set to music by Deidda himself. The singer-songwriter from Iglesias has been exploring the relationship between literary texts and musical composition for decades. He has worked on the works of Pessoa, Pavese, Deledda, and, more recently, Pirandello. These are deeply compelling and highly innovative experiments in setting poetry to music. Pavese’s writing can also be approached in this way.
